President Donald Trump
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
Dear President Trump,
I write to you with urgency and grave concern regarding the evolving situation in Iran following the recent ceasefire and unsuccessful negotiations involving the United States and the Islamic Republic in Iran.
While external tensions may have temporarily shifted, credible and verifiable reports indicate a deeply alarming escalation of internal repression inside Iran. Multiple independent sources, human rights organizations, and documented eyewitness accounts point to a sharp rise in:
- Arbitrary arrests of civilians, activists, and political dissenters
- Executions carried out without fair trials or due process
- Severe and systematic violations of human dignity, including reported cases of sexual violence and extrajudicial killings of detainees.
These are not isolated incidents but part of a broader and consistent pattern of state repression that violates fundamental principles of international law and universally recognized human rights standards.
We also emphasize that this pattern appears to intensify during periods of reduced external pressure, placing an increasing number of innocent lives at immediate risk. We respectfully note that detailed documentation, corroborated testimonies, and verifiable evidence supporting these reports are available and can be provided for independent review upon request.
In light of these urgent developments, The New Iran strongly and respectfully urges your office to consider the following actions:
- explicitly and formally raise the immediate cessation of executions and arbitrary detentions in all engagements with Iranian authorities
- condition any diplomatic or political progress on measurable and verifiable improvements in human rights practices on the ground
- utilize all available diplomatic, legal, and international mechanisms to halt ongoing violations and prevent further escalation
- coordinate with international partners to support independent monitoring and investigation of reported abuses.
The people of Iran, particularly those deprived of any voice under current conditions, are looking to the international community for moral clarity and decisive action.
Timely intervention can directly contribute to saving innocent lives and preventing further irreversible harm.
Respectfully,
Dr. Iman Foroutan
