Dear Sean Doyle, CEO of BA, and Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa
Dear Sean Doyle, CEO of BA, and Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa
We are appalled to learn of the cancellation of all London-Munich flights by British Airways and Lufthansa only two days before the gathering of Iranian people in Munich on Saturday, 14 February, to protest the mass killing of over 40,000 people by the Islamic Republic in Iran on 8 and 9 January. We object in the strongest terms to this ill-advised action by the two airlines, which is designed to stem the flow of tens of thousands of people in support of the Lion and Sun Revolution in Iran and its undisputed Leader, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi.
Accordingly, we shall inform all relevant authorities as well as news agencies, TV stations, newspapers, and social media of the discriminatory nature of this heinous act, which will impede the flight of Iranian protestors to Munich for their massive demonstration this Saturday, 14 February.
Such drastic measures only serve to highlight the insensitivity of those in charge to the gross violation of human rights. Therefore, we urge British Airways and Lufthansa to reverse this decision immediately and restore, and if necessary, increase the London-Munich flights to accommodate the increase in demand. Failure to do so will leave a mark in the collective memory of the Iranian people for many years to come.
